About Ashley René Casey

Founder of the Presence Over Pixels Movement | Digital Wellness Speaker &
 Human-First Leadership Advisor

Why I started POP

Technology is incredible, but somewhere along the way it got louder than our lives.

I’m Ashley René Casey: founder, speaker, lifelong learner, wife, mom, and human-connection enthusiast. My work sits at the intersection of tech, psychology, sociology, and what makes us deeply, authentically human.

I started Presence Over Pixels because I saw something unsettling happening everywhere — in families, workplaces, classrooms, and my own life.
The world wasn’t just distracted; it was drifting. We were losing clarity, confidence, and connection under the weight of constant notifications and digital noise.

And I refused to accept that this was “just the way things are now.”

My background is rooted in people and performance — nearly ten years at BNSF Railway, almost five at Amazon, and a lifetime of observing how culture, systems, and human behavior shape each other. Add in my lived experience as a mother, creative, and community leader, and a truth became impossible to ignore:

People aren’t burned out because they’re weak.
They’re burned out because their environments are overwhelming.

Presence Over Pixels was created to change that.

To bring people back to themselves.
To reconnect us to each other.
To build a more human-centered world — one conversation, workshop, or reset at a time.

What I Do Today

I help individuals, families, schools, and organizations reclaim what tech has quietly taken: attention, energy, creativity, and meaningful connection.

Through keynotes, workshops, and courses, I share my frameworks for more intentional tech use. I teach practical, evidence-informed strategies that help people:

  • Build healthier tech habits without shame or fear
  • Think more clearly and communicate more intentionally
  • Strengthen relationships at home and at work
  • Improve focus, resilience, and emotional wellbeing
  • Create cultures where humans—not algorithms—take the lead
My approach blends research, cognitive psychology, exploration of social norms, storytelling, and real-world insight from years in leading many people from many different backgrounds.

Whether I’m working with professionals, students, parents, or adults looking to change their life, my mission is the same: Help people feel present, powerful, and human again.

Why This Work Matters

We are living through a global experiment with no blueprint and no pause button. Our brains weren’t designed for the volume, speed, or emotional load of today’s tech ecosystems — and the impact on our relationships, mental health, and culture is profound.

But the solution isn’t going backward. It’s going forward with intention.

And that’s where Presence Over Pixels stands apart.

I don't teach detoxes.   I teach discernment.

I don't teach restriction.   I teach regulation.

I don't point to the problem.   I build the pathway to something better.

Because when people understand how digital design influences their brains - and they gain the tools to navigate it - everything changes. Work feels lighter. Relationships feel richer. Life feels real again.
